MindFull: The model

MindFull is part of The BB Group, a charity which uses technology for social good. We build communities of socially mediated support, connecting people in need with those who can help. We inspire social action and create long-term change on an individual and societal level. Our core programmes include BeatBullying, an international bullying prevention charity working and campaigning to make bullying unacceptable, and FutureYou, a national programme enabling young people to overcome the barriers they face in accessing and succeeding in education, employment and training.

Using our 10 years of knowledge and experience, and with lots of help from our youth panel, we have now launched MindFull, a new service aiming to transform mental health service provision for young people aged 11-17, who are looking to access real-time support around, and information, advice and guidance on, their emotional wellbeing and mental health. Developed not only out of a clear need for better access to early intervention and prevention services, but also on evidence from the young people we work with, MindFull helps to improve young people's emotional resilience, and develop positive coping mechanisms to equip them with the tools they need to reach their full potential, to be happy, and to be healthy.

MindFull offers one of the largest online counselling services, using a pioneering framework of intervention that includes robust Safeguarding procedures. Through the provision of Tier 2 counselling services, MindFull reduces the prolonged suffering experienced by young people who are currently left on waiting lists for often extensive periods of time, enabling them to access the help they need, whenever they need it, wherever they are.

The BB Group's model of intervention is the number one source of online support for children and young people in schools in the UK. By using a medium that young people feel confident and able to use, MindFull aims to be a part of a much needed attitudinal shift towards emotional wellbeing and mental health support, through the modernisation of services. My story

Hey their my name is Molly. When I was younger my mum was really ill when I was five I found my mum in a coma things really shuck me up I had to go live with my aunt down South for 4 months because she was unable to look after me. They could not find anything wrong with my mum so she kept being ill for 10 years this effected me massively in primary school so it was hard to keep friends. My mum finally got diagnosed this made me feel better. I started secondary school a fresh new ...

How do you feel today?

Conversations so often begin with "How are you?" normally the response is mundane and expected "good thank you" or "fine". What nobody expects is an accurate explanation of my actual feelings, but how do I feel? It's impossible to explain lost?-yes tired?-no exhausted but how I feel can't be described with words or music or art or food. But I can describe what I do. I wake up and I get out of bed but I'm not entirely sure I want to but I do because I feel obliged to. My chest is heavy, my head hopeless I'm so tired ...

Stuck

I don't know what it is anymore. I just feel, stuck. Like I don't know where to turn. Or what to do. Or what to say. Or how to function. It's like I reached my limit and my brain is yelling, stop, stop, stop. Too many thoughts, too many worries, anxieties and fears. Calm your self down. I put my trust in the dude above And in the others around me So why. Why why why, do I still feel so alone?
